Frequently Asked Questions


Can I purchase tickets over the phone?

Yes in addition to being able to buy online or in person, you can buy tickets over the phone. Our Box Office is open from 11 am to 2 pm, including Lunch Hour, as well as one hour prior to the performance. You will need a credit card to complete your purchase. Call 780-872-7400 ext. 1 to reach the Box Office. Patrons who wish to use cash or debit only must purchase tickets in person.



How do I add tickets to another performance to my online order after selecting seats for the first event?

Click on "Tickets" in the top menu bar or click on "Continue Shopping" at the bottom of the screen before checking out.



I am having trouble buying tickets online. What should I do?

Check the error message at the top of the screen.

If you are trying to log in, did you enter your password correctly. You can click on "Forgot My Password" if needed.

Our system requires you to enter a reason as to "How Did You Hear About This Event?"

Double check that you entered your credit card number correctly.

Did you "check" to agree with the Terms & Conditions of Sale?


 

How do I confirm that my online purchase worked?

After you log in External link opens in new tab or windowhere -- click on the "Display My Upcoming Performances" button. A list of tickets to all future events will be displayed.


 

How do I get a student rate or senior rate on the tickets I purchase online?

Student and Senior rates are not available for every performance. It is a determination made by our rental client on whether to offer it or not. (Vic Juba Community Theatre generally has one ticket price for our Dr. H. A. McDonald Season performances.) After you choose your seats, our system will show you one ticket price or a list of possible options (if offerred). If the presenter of the event has student or senior prices, you can change the price on each seat at this point.



I require wheelchair seating. Can I do that online?

Unfortunately we do not process wheelchair seats online. Please call the Box Office for wheelchair seating.



How do I change my address on my online account?

Does my child need a ticket, if they are sitting on my lap?

Any patron one year old or older requires a ticket even if they are sitting on your lap. Children under the age of one year old do not require a ticket.



Can I take my child's car seat or stroller into the theatre?

No. Please see an usher who will arrange to store your car seat or stroller.



Can I take my walker into the theatre?

When entering the theatre, ask that an usher follow you to your seat and then store your walker during the performance.



How do I find out about presale codes to purchase tickets before they go on sale to general public or to get a discount?

Where do I enter the presale access code?

The presale access code is only available when an event has the option. It will not appear if there are no presale access codes in effect.




I have an E-Ticket on my phone. Do I need to print it?

No. Using your phone, open the attachment from your online order email and then present it to an usher at the door. You can also log into your account on your phone, click on "Tickets for Upcoming Performances", and then "Download Ticket to PDF." Open the PDF and have an usher scan it at the door. If you do not have access to your email on your phone, download and print the PDF to be scanned at the door.


 

When do the doors open for me to take my seat?

Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance start time. We encourage you to arrive no later than 20 minutes prior to the performance.



After I visit the Concession, can I take my beverage or bar snack into the theatre?

Yes you can! And yes, we accept debit and/or credit cards at the Concession.


 

What happens if I arrive late?

We endeavour to minimize the inconvenience to our patrons and the artists on stage when seating latecomers. If you arrive late for a performance, you will be seated at the first appropriate moment in open seats at the back. You are welcome to move to your assigned seat at intermission.



How do I practice good Theatre Etiquette?

If you must leave the theatre during a performance, please select an appropriate time (between songs) to minimize the disruption to those seated around you.

Please remove your hat if someone is sitting behind you.



If I am unable to make the performance, can I get a refund on my tickets or exchange my ticket for another performance?

There are no refunds or exchanges on tickets.


 

Where is the elevator?

It is located halfway down the main hallway at Lakeland College.



Do you have an ATM?

Yes we do. It is near the top of the stairs to the cafeteria.



Where are the washrooms?

We have a large suite of stalls in our lower lobby washrooms located between the Box Office and Coat Check. There is a small number of stalls located off the upper lobby.



Where is the Artist Merchandise Sold?

Many artists have merchandise for sale prior to the performance, during intermission and following the performance. Our merchandise area is located in the Upper Lobby.


 

Will there be an Event Program?

Not every event has a program handout. Please check with our volunteer ushers at the door for a copy of an event program.



How many events do you host each year?

We host up to 175 events per year. The majority of events hosted at our venue are presented by our wonderful rental clients. We only host up to 15 performances within our Dr. H. A. McDonald Season. When you check the event page, check to see who the event is "presented by" to determine if an event is a rental or not.


 

Are you a Fragrance-Fee Facility?

Please be considerate of your fellow patrons who have allergies and refrain from using perfumes or colognes.



Are you a non profit organization?

Yes. We are incorporated under the Society Act in the province of Alberta. We are located at Lakeland College but we are a completely separate organization.


 

Who is Vic Juba?

Vic has been a very dedicated individual with many non-profit organizations in our community for many years. We are fortunate to have Vic as a member of our Board of Directors.  And Vic has been a regular patron at events in our venue.

 


What is an interesting fact about our venue name?

Our name is "Vic Juba Community Theatre". The 3rd word is "Community". Mayor and Council specifically wanted the word "Community" added to the name of our venue to recognize that our community raised over half the funds to build our venue.



Can I arrange for the Box Office to Sell Tickets for my Event at Another Venue?

Vic Juba Community Theatre has an excellent box office system to meet the ticket needs of any organization that requires our services no matter where your venue is located within the Lloydminster region. In fact, we actually have many, many people phone or show up at the Box Office for tickets to events at other venues.
