Vic Juba Community Theatre is located in Canada's Border City of Lloydminster, Alberta/Saskatchewan.
Our theatre can stage full-scale theatrical productions, concerts, conventions, lectures, the symphony, graduation ceremonies, dance festivals, or your wedding.
The operation of the Vic Juba Community Theatre is managed by a non-profit organization that is incorporated as a Society in the province of Alberta.
The Board of Directors consists of 11 individuals appointed by City Council. The Board of Directors hire and appoint a General Manager to implement the Board's objectives and management policies and to provide leadership to the staff.
The building and its assets are owned by the City of Lloydminster. The land on which the building is located is leased from Lakeland College.
To assist in the operation and funding of the facility, the Vic Juba Community Theatre receives an annual subsidy from the City of Lloydminster. The theatre has entered into a successful long-term agreement for rental of our facility with Lakeland College, Lloydminster Public School Division, and Lloydminster Catholic School Division.
The staff at our facility consists of 4 permanent full-time, 2 permanent part-time, 6 permanent event based employees, and 2 contract staff members.
Volunteers assist at our events with the running of the coat check, bar and concession, artist merchandise sales, and working as ushers. Volunteers can also work with our technical staff as stage crew or assisting with lights, sound, and video.
The theatre hosts 160 - 170 event days per year on the "Ulmer Chev Stage". The Vic Juba Community Theatre presents 12 to 15 of these events each season - entitled "The Dr. H. A. McDonald Series".
The majority of the events at our facility are "presented by" our clients; such as, concert promoters or local organizations that include Lloydminster Concert Series Association, Lakeland College Performing Arts and the Lloydminster Regional Theatre Foundation.
The theatre is also proud to host a Film Society evening that runs monthly during January to June each year.
