Join us at the Vic Juba Community Theatre on October 21 as the energetic and talented five-piece HTM tribute band celebrates the honky tonk music of Dwight Yoakam. The band delves into the vast Dwight Yoakam song catalogue with humour, anecdotes and great music.
Credited with the 80s-90s revival of honky-tonk and hillbilly music, Dwight Yoakam’s popularity spawned over 30 studio, live, and compilation albums, 37 top charted singles including numerous #1s and top 10s, and three #1 albums including a triple-platinum album ‘This Time’. Yoakam has also amassed two Academy of Country Music Awards and two Grammys!
Yoakam’s unique clothing, stage persona, nasally twang, and cool dance moves made him unique and unmatched amongst his contemporaries, and his hits would fill the airwaves and streams for four decades.
The HTM Band performs Yoakam’s hits including Guitars Cadillacs, Fast as You, and 1000 Miles From Nowhere. Add in some of the cool covers that Dwight recorded over his career such as Little Sister, Suspicious Minds and Honky Tonk Man, and you’re in for a honky tonk good time!
